Dr. Gabriel Ortiz is a native of D’Hanis, Texas just 50 miles west of San Antonio.  Dr. Ortiz completed his undergraduate degree at The University of Texas at Austin and attended medical school at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.  In addition to his medical training in Houston, Dr. Ortiz was co-President of the Texas Association of Latin American Medical Students, and he participated in diabetic research mentorship during his summer months.  Dr. Ortiz completed his Family Practice internship and residency in McAllen, Texas, associated with The University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.  Dr. Ortiz is a member of the Bexar County Medical Society and served as Treasurer in 2009. Dr. Ortiz is also a member of the American Academy of Family Practice, American Medical Association, and the Texas Medical Association. He has also received the distinct honor of being awarded and recognized as one of The Best Doctors in America from 2007-2010 as well as a Top Doctor in San Antonio 2009 by other medical professionals.

Dr. Ortiz is bilingual in English and Spanish, and enjoys seeing patients of all ages.  In his leisure time, he enjoys outdoor sports and spending time with his family.  Dr. Ortiz is married and has two young boys.  He looks forward to discussing you and your family’s medical needs.
