Dr. Juan A. Gonzalez, originally from Ponce Puerto Rico, received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Florida and his Doctor of Medicine from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1984.  He subsequently completed his training in Internal Medicine at the University of South Florida Affiliated Hospitals.

Dr. Gonzalez came to San Antonio in 1987 as a member of the National Health Service Corps.  He served for four years as an Internist at the Barrio Comprehensive Family Health Care Center on the west side of San Antonio.  He has since practiced in the downtown and south side of San Antonio and is committed to bringing quality healthcare to under-served areas. He has received the distinct honor of being awarded and recognized as one of The Best Doctors in America from 2007-2010.  Dr. Gonzalez has also been recognized as a Top Doctor in San Antonio 2009 by other medical professionals. Dr. Gonzalez has a special interest and extensive experience in Geriatrics.  Dr. Gonzalez is bilingual in English and Spanish and looks forward to discussing your healthcare needs.
