Melba J. Beine, M.D.

Dr. Melba Jean Beine, originally from Yates Center, Kansas, completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Kansas and a Masters of Science in Microbiology from Michigan State University.  Dr. Beine completed four years of religious studies at the Siena Heights College in Adrian, Michigan.  She entered the Catholic religious order, Sisters of St. Dominic, in Adrian Michigan in 1971 and remains an active member of this Congregation.

After working for ten years as a Clinical Microbiologist, she made a career change.  She graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Medicine at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, Maryland, which included a year as Chief Medical Resident.  After six years of private practice in Batimore, she came to San Antonio to practice medicine with HealthTexas Medical Group in 1995.

Dr. Beine’s interests in medicine include general adult medicine, service to the medically underserved, and infectious diseases.  She has received the distinct honor of being awarded and recognized as being a Top Doctor in San Antonio 2009 as well as one of The Best Doctors in America from 2005-2010.  Her recreational interests include cats, cooking, gardening, and sunshine.  She looks forward to meeting you and becoming your primary care doctor.
