Dr. Rowland S. Reyna is a native of San Antonio.  He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and his Doctor of Medicine from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1982.  Prior experience includes cancer research with the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare.  He was an instructor of a Stanford University undergraduate course relating to healthcare and he completed a Tropical Medicine fellowship in the Amazon Jungle.  Dr. Rowland received his Internal Medicine training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas.  He is a Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

In 1994, Dr. Rowland received an MBA in Healthcare Management.  Dr. Rowland is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and received the distinct honor as one of the Best Doctors in America from 1996-2010 as well as a Top Doctor in San Antonio 2009 by other medical professionals.  Dr. Rowland was recognized as a Texas Super Doctor from 2006-2008 by Texas Monthly magazine.  Also in 2006, Dr. Rowland was awarded a Fellowship by the American Academy of Cardiology.  As of March 31, 2007, Dr. Rowland has additionally been awarded a Lifetime Appointment as a "Master of Cardiology" by the American Academy of Cardiology, which is the highest distinction available to a primary care physician.
